The proper condition of the intestines is one of the most important aspects of poultry keeping.

Eimeria parasites, causing coccidosis, lead to a loss of intestinal integrity. Additionally, other pathogens join the parasites, disturbing the microbial balance of the intestines and causing severe secondary infections. The stabilization and proper functioning of the intestinal mucosa epithelium helps to protect the herd against pathogenic microorganisms. Poultry feeding programs should strengthen the natural immunity and stabilize the gastrointestinal microflora.

adiCox® AP supports the functioning of the intestinal mucosa epithelium, ensuring an effective process of nutrient absorption.

Phytoncides and phytoalexins contained in the product:

• have the ability to penetrate pathogen cells,
• have antibacterial properties,
• have antiviral and fungistatic abilities,
• maintain the balance of microorganisms living in the digestive tract,
• limit disease processes.

One of the most interesting examples of the positive impact of adiCox® AP on bird health is the research carried out in 2009.

TEST CONDITIONS:

• University of Life Sciences in Wroclaw; prof. dr hab. M. Mazurkiewicz, dr hab. A. Gaweł; Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
• Ross 308.
• Infection as a result of probe application to the crop at 21 days of age.
• 600 000 sporulated oocysts/ml Eimeria acervulina, Eimeria maxima, Eimeria tenella.

RESULTS:

The intestinal villi in the adiCox® AP group were higher, in better condition, and the reticuloendothelial tissue was 25% thicker compared to the control group.adiCox AP ENG

CONCLUSIONS:

Thanks to the herbal ingredients contained in the product, we ensure better structural and functional integration of the epithelial and lymphoid tissue of the intestine. Therefore, birds infected with Eimeria oocysts that received adiCox® AP showed a significantly lower effect of infection compared to the histopathological picture of the intestinal epithelium of the birds from the control group. The lymphoid tissue stimulated by adiCox® AP ensures more efficient fighting with the pathogen cells.

Prevention of coccidiosis should be an important issue for the poultry farmers, and the use of herbal-based products is a safer option compared to commonly used coccidiostats.
